La Segunda Central Bakery has been baking Cuban bread in Ybor City since 1915, when Juan Moré opened the doors. Today, the family still runs the operation, now in its fourth generation. They produce more than 20,000 loaves daily using a signature method of high-gluten spring wheat flour and slow fermentation, finished with the traditional palmetto-leaf split down the center. Their Cuban bread and rolls supply restaurants, hotels, schools, and foodservice operations across Tampa Bay and beyond, reaching 35 states through major distributors. In the Tampa Bay area, fresh varieties arrive daily; they also offer frozen products with a 270-day shelf life for nationwide reach.
