Grassy Pointe Preserve

33-acre wetland preserve in Holmes Beach with nature trails, boardwalk, and kayak access to mangroves and tidal creeks.

About

Grassy Pointe Preserve sits on 33 acres of protected wetland in Holmes Beach, acquired in 2001 with grant funding from the Florida Communities Trust. The preserve centers on a nature trail that loops through the upland area, lined with tree trunks cleared from exotic plant removal, and a boardwalk that extends into the wetland itself. From there you can see red and black mangroves, tidal flats, oyster bars, and seagrass beds along the tidal estuarine creek. The waterfront provides kayak and canoe access for those wanting to paddle the shallow waters. A wellness trail with six exercise stations for calisthenics, stretching, and mindfulness was added in spring 2022. Over ten educational stations throughout the preserve teach about the local ecosystem and native wildlife like fiddler crabs. The boardwalk's end offers views across the bay.
