Violet Cury Preserve
160-acre Lutz nature preserve with hiking trail, lake fishing, and bird watching through pine flatwoods and marshes.
About
Violet Cury Preserve is a 160-acre sanctuary in Lutz that opened to the public through Hillsborough County's environmental lands program in 1995. The preserve protects a mix of natural habitats including pine flatwoods, sandhills, marshes, oak hammock, and Lake Flynn, a freshwater lake. A 2.25-mile hiking trail winds through the property, making it accessible for walking and exploring. The lake and surrounding wetlands draw people looking to fish or watch birds. Dogs are welcome on the trail. Parking is available along Sinclair Hills Road at the preserve entrance.
