Venice Area Beautification Inc.
Nonprofit volunteer organization that plants flowers, maintains parks, and builds green spaces across Venice.
About
Venice Area Beautification Inc. is a volunteer-driven nonprofit that has shaped the look and feel of Venice. The organization runs several teams focused on different parts of the community. The Bloom Team plants flowers and maintains downtown gardens with hanging baskets and fountains. The Keep Venice Beautiful Team clears and plants in public beach access areas and parks throughout the Venice area. VABI also maintains the Monty Andrews Arboretum, which features native plants, walking paths, and educational signage. Along the east bank of the Intracoastal Waterway south of the Historic Train Depot, volunteers have installed and are maintaining a 1.75 mile urban forest. The Public Art Committee funds and paints murals in downtown and beyond. Each year, the organization lights up the Arboretum for the holiday season, starting in late November and running through early January.
