Team Alves Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu teaches the martial art in Sarasota. The gym runs over 20 classes each week, with instruction for kids ages 4 and up, adult beginners, and female-only sessions. New students work one-on-one with Professor Alves to build fundamentals. The space also hosts open mats for all levels to train together. On Sundays, the community gathers for training followed by ice baths and a barbecue. Katrina on staff is certified in yoga for BJJ practitioners.
