Sardinia: Traditional Italian Cuisine brings the cooking of Italy's island region to Sarasota. Chef and owner Dino Carta trained in culinary school in Sassari, Sardinia, then apprenticed in Tuscany and worked along Italy's Emerald Coast before opening here. The kitchen centers on a wood-burning oven where aged meats and fish braise alongside seasonal vegetables and locally caught seafood. Carta bakes traditional Sardinian bread daily and makes pasta in house. The restaurant sources fresh seasonal ingredients, organic produce, and wild mushrooms. A private room accommodates groups of 10 or 12 with advance notice.
