Sailaway Design is a Tampa art studio and retail space run by painter Christine Johnson. She works in acrylics and oils, painting in a primitive style that captures landscapes, cityscapes, and still lifes from places she's traveled. Her subjects range from Mayan ruins in Mexico and scenes from the Virgin Islands to Arizona deserts and Austin hill country. Johnson paints on location when possible, working to preserve the mood and atmospheric details of each place at the moment she captures it. Beyond original paintings, the studio carries T-shirts and ceramics. All work is available for purchase, with prices open to discussion for serious inquiries.
