The International Museum of Radiant Peace in Saint Petersburg documents the work of the Radiant Peace Foundation International, a nonprofit educational organization that closed at the end of 2023 after nearly four decades. From 1990 onward, the foundation ran The Radiant Peace Education Awards program, inviting students in grades 1 through 12 across the United States and eventually 15 other countries to submit essays, art, and special projects on peace. Over 300,000 children participated since the program began. The museum itself was established after the foundation had spent thirteen years collecting these submissions. The organization also marked The International Day of Radiant Peace, celebrated worldwide since 1999. A book titled Radiant Peace: Wisdom and Tips from Children, featuring essays and quotes from student participants, is available through the museum store and major booksellers.
