Based in Tampa, the business operates across four divisions serving 24 counties, primarily in Central and Northern Michigan. The company runs 26 Shell and 3 Marathon convenience stores, nearly 60 Subway restaurants, and Forward Energy, which supplies propane, diesel, and fuel oil. Forward also owns T.R. McTaggart, offering screen printing and embroidery services from Standish; Kristin & Company Candles, soy candles distributed to over 300 independent retailers nationwide; Lumber Jack Lodge in West Branch with event space for up to 250 guests; a Super 8 Motel in West Branch; and Ideal Party Store of Bay City, founded in 1934, along with the adjacent Shamrock Dairy Bar.
