Based in Ellenton, the company has grown into a multi-division enterprise employing over 1,000 people across 24 counties, primarily throughout Michigan. Forward's operations span convenience stores, fuel distribution, food service, screen printing, candle production, and hospitality. The company operates Shell and Marathon convenience stores, Subway restaurants, propane and fuel services, and owns properties including Lumber Jack Lodge in West Branch and a Super 8 Motel. Kristin & Company Candles, part of the Forward family, produces hand-crafted soy candles distributed to independent retailers nationwide.
