Cypress Creek Preserve is a 2500-acre natural area in New Tampa that connects into a larger wildlife corridor stretching into Pasco and Polk Counties. The preserve protects a mix of hardwood forests, swamps, pine flatwoods, wet prairies, cypress stands, and freshwater marshes. You can hike the trail, watch birds, bring a picnic, and bring your dog along. Pavilions are available on a first-come basis if you want to gather a group. The hiking trail entrance is about a quarter mile southwest of the parking area at 18000 Lizard's-Tail Road.
