Brooker Creek Preserve

Pinellas County's largest natural area with forested wetlands, pine flatwoods, boardwalks, and guided nature programs in Tarpon Springs.

About

Brooker Creek Preserve spans roughly 8,700 acres across Tarpon Springs, making it the largest natural area in Pinellas County. The preserve protects four different ecosystems, primarily forested wetlands and pine flatwoods that support the region's native plants and wildlife. You can explore on your own using scenic boardwalks and hiking trails, or join a guided tour or nature hike by reservation. The on-site Environmental Education Center hosts exhibits, displays, and classes year-round. Regular programs include nature journaling sessions, bird hikes, youth discovery walks, and evening moth nights. Younger children can join Book Time on Thursday mornings, and the preserve runs summer camps and teacher camps throughout the year. Admission is free, with donations welcome.
