Blackwater Creek Nature Preserve

2,200-acre county preserve in Plant City with trails through pine flatwoods, cypress domes, and blackwater streams.

About

Blackwater Creek Nature Preserve spans 2,200 acres across Plant City and surrounding Hillsborough County land. The preserve protects a mix of ecosystems: long leaf pine flatwoods, blackwater streams, hardwood hammocks, cypress domes, freshwater marshes, and wet prairies. Visitors come here to walk and hike the trail system, watch birds, and experience the natural landscape that defines this part of central Florida. Dogs are welcome on hand-held leashes. There is no potable water on site, so bring what you need. The preserve does not allow swimming, hunting, fires, overnight camping, or bicycles.
