Barbouni

Mediterranean restaurant in Historic Kenwood with fresh ingredients, house-made bakery, and an edible herb garden.

About

Barbouni sits on Central Avenue in St. Petersburg's Historic Kenwood, where owners Debbie and George Sayegh transformed a former mechanic shop into a 150-seat neighborhood restaurant. The kitchen works with fresh ingredients and Mediterranean-inspired dishes that build on family recipes. The space includes both indoor and outdoor dining, plus a bakery and cafe. An edible herb garden on the property supplies seasonal ingredients for the kitchen. Debbie Sayegh designed the interior with Mediterranean touches and evil eye symbolism throughout; a mural by local artist Chad Mize features the same motif on a structural pole.
