Alafia River Corridor Nature Preserve North spans 4,070 acres in eastern Hillsborough County, offering open access to trails, wildlife habitat, and three primitive campsites. The preserve is home to gopher tortoises, eastern indigo snakes, and American alligators. Hikers and bird watchers can explore the grounds during daylight hours. Three free primitive campsites are available: Bobcat Site at 1 mile from the trailhead, Hawk Site at 2.2 miles, and Otter Site at 2.5 miles. Reservations are required 14 days in advance. Pets are welcome on trails. Campsites have no potable water and are not accessible by bicycle. Staff can be reached Monday through Friday for questions about the preserve.
