Lowry Park Zoo sits in Tampa and brings together animals from around the world across multiple themed areas. The zoo runs the David A. Straz, Jr. Manatee Critical Care Center, a working facility for manatee rescue and rehabilitation. The newer Florida Waters section features manatees, otters, reptiles, amphibians, and jellies. Visitors can cool off at the Billabong Splash Pad in the Australia section or ride the Roaring Springs water attractions. The zoo offers hands-on animal experiences including giraffe encounters, stingray in-water experiences, behind-the-scenes tours, and signature encounters with keepers. An Africa safari ride lets you see animals across a larger landscape. Seasonal events like Creatures of the Night and Christmas in the Wild run throughout the year, giving the zoo different feels depending on when you visit.
